The expose-and-bond procedure is performed to help guide an impacted or unerupted tooth (most often a canine) into its proper position in the dental arch. This procedure is completed by our esteemed oral surgeon, Dr. Reed Rayher in collaboration with our wonderful orthodontists, all under the same roof. This streamlined approach ensures your child receives coordinated, efficient, and comfortable care.

Why Is It Done?

1. Impacted Tooth: Sometimes, teeth (especially canines) fail to erupt into the mouth due to being stuck in the jawbone or gum tissue. This can happen due to overcrowding, abnormal positioning, or other dental development issues.

2. Orthodontic Alignment: The procedure makes the impacted tooth accessible so it can be moved into the proper position with orthodontic appliances like braces.
