GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY AT ALAMEDA PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY AT ALAMEDA PEDIATRIC DENTISTRYFebruary is National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM). All month long, dental professionals, healthcare providers, and educators will come together to promote the benefits of good oral health. A highlight of the month is Give Kids a Smile Day, when thousands of dentists across the country partner with the American Dental Association (ADA) to provide free dental treatment to underserved children in their communities.

Alameda Pediatric Dentistry will host our Give Kids a Smile Day on Saturday, February 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., as part of our ongoing efforts to give back. In addition to the ADA, we have partnered with the Alameda County Dental Society to provide low-income children of Alameda and Oakland with free exams, cleanings, fillings, and other much-needed dental care.

It’s a day of volunteering that our doctors and staff enjoy. We know a single day won’t solve the problem of untreated dental disease. Through our Tooth Fairy Island program, we visit neighborhood schools throughout the month to distribute free toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss, and to increase oral health awareness and enthusiasm along the way.

Let’s work together to encourage children to brush their teeth for two minutes, twice a day. Mark your calendars for their six-month checkups. With little time and effort, your teeth can serve you for a lifetime!
